Marqué par la philosophie d’Albert Camus, le britannique Brendan Dawes utilise des processus génératifs impliquant données et apprentissage automatique pour créer des installations interactives, des objets électroniques et des expériences en ligne. Lauréat des Prix Lumen et Aesthetica Art, il a fait l’objet de très nombreuses expositions à travers le monde (Big Bang Data dans treize villes, le MoMA de New York à trois reprises…) et son œuvre Cinema Redux a même rejoint la collection permanente du MoMA en 2008.
Dans son travail, Brendan Dawes s’inspire de la culture populaire et de la nature, axant son propos sur les concepts de temps et de mémoire, ses explorations analytiques remettant en question jusqu’à notre propre compréhension du monde. Après la vente de son NFT Genesis sur KnownOrigin en moins d’une heure au collectionneur légendaire WhaleShark, Brendan Dawes a poursuivi son travail en proposant une collection sur Nifty Gateway vendue en moins de soixante secondes.
<Également présent sur MakersPlace, Foundation et SuperRare, l’artiste a fait partie de NTFism : No Fear in Trying une exposition de groupe organisée par Kenny Schachter. Son œuvre Typographic Data City: Hong Kong in Motion s’est par ailleurs vendue 37 800 $ lors de la vente Natively Digital de Sotheby’s en octobre 2021.

Inspired by Albert Camus’ philosophy, british artist Brendan Dawes uses generative processes, mixing data and automated learning, to create interactive installations, electronic objects and online experiences. Winner of the Lumen and Aesthetica Art Prizes, he has been the subject of numerous exhibitions around the world (Big Bang Data in thirteen cities, the MoMA in New York on three occasions, etc.) and his work Cinema Redux has even joined the MoMa collection in 2008.
Brendan Dawes’ work draws inspiration from popular culture and nature, focusing on the concepts of time and memory, his analytical explorations challenging even our own understanding of the world.
After selling his Genesis NFT on KnownOrigin in less than an hour to legendary collector WhaleShark, Brendan Dawes continued his work by offering a collection on Nifty Gateway that sold out in less than sixty seconds. Also present on MakersPlace, Foundation and SuperRare, the artist was part of NTFism: No Fear in Trying a group exhibition curated by Kenny Schachter. His work Typographic Data City: Hong Kong in Motion has been sold $37,800 during the Natively Digital sale at Sotheby’s in October 2021.
